A community for everyone who loves the north end of LBI — from sunrise on the beach to sunset over the bay, in the shadow of Old Barney. Share photos, swap local tips, support our small businesses, and stay in the loop.
Barnegat Light is the little borough at the very north end of Long Beach Island, watched over by Old Barney — the red-and-white Barnegat Lighthouse that’s stood at the inlet since 1859 (217 steps to the best view on LBI).
It’s a place of working fishing boats at Viking Village, quiet north-end beaches, surf fishing at dawn, paddleboards on the bay, and the kind of sunsets people pull over for. Part year-round neighbors, part summer regulars, all one community.
Barnegat Light Life is where that community gathers online — to share what’s happening, help each other out, show off the view, and keep our local spots thriving.
Barnegat Light Life lives on Facebook — neighbors, second-home owners, and Island regulars sharing photos, questions, tide and weather notes, lost-and-found, local recommendations, and what’s happening around town. It’s free to join and the heart of everything here.
A few of the spots that make the north end special — bring the family, bring a fishing rod, or just bring a camera for the sunset.
Barnegat Light runs on its small businesses. This is the place to find them — and members get the first word on specials, hours, and new arrivals.
Wear the north end. Local-pride tees, hats, prints, and stickers — curated by David and made-to-order, so there’s always something new on the way.
